Hello, everyone; my name is Louis W. Buendia.
I was born in the Mexican state of Zacatecas on a Sunday, September 15. then my family moved to the Mexican state of Guanajuato. I grew up in Leon, also known as Leon de Los Alamos.
I hold an Associate of Science degree, which makes me an X-ray technologist and an MRI technologist. I have a diploma in Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s in Biblical and Theological Studies from Liberty University. Currently, I’m enrolled in the Hispanic Ministries program at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary online. I’m working on getting the M.Div.
I’m married to Samantha Buendia; my three sons are Andrew, 23; Luke, 19; and Alex, 17.
I came to know the grace of God, given through Jesus Christ, by the testimony and hard work of some brothers and sisters back in Mexico when I was 20 years old.
I enjoy a good thriller, drama, espionage, or comedy movie. My favorite sports are soccer and boxing; nonetheless, I appreciate all sports. I think the best season of the year is Spring, even with allergies. My happiness in this season of life is to enjoy an afternoon with the whole family.
My favorite unknown quote: Success is the syntony of wills: God’s and yours. One of my favorite Bible verses is Revelation 3:20: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Upon arriving here, I found myself looking for a church to attend here in the USA. We were members of Faith Baptist Church for about ten years. We joined Merriman Road Baptist Church in 2016, and I served there until 2020 as a minister to the Hispanic Community. I also worked in other ministries within the church.
MY BELIEFS
I believe in the providence of God, and I believe that God is one God in three different persons.
I believe that men are lost and on their way to hell. I believe the mercy of God has provided in Jesus Christ the only way for men to fix their broken relationship with the Father, be saved from eternal punishment, and obtain everlasting life as children of God. I believe the Holy Spirit is the one who convinces men of sin and of their need to turn to Jesus for salvation.
I believe men are responsible for their demise if they don’t turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. I believe that Jesus has given His church the Great Commission and that we should follow it. Both locally and universally, nonetheless, I think local missions are a crucial priority. Discipleship should be within the church, inside the temple, and outside the temple. I believe it is our responsibility to seek holiness and grow into the stature of the perfect man in Christ.
As the church of God, we should love one another and help each other achieve holiness and the stature of Christ, striving to be more Christ-like every day. I desire to share with you the love of God in the way of preaching, praying, and assisting people in any way possible. All for the glory of God.
Three local churches in Detroit ordained me as a pastor on November 27, 2023: New City Church, First Latin American Church, and First Spanish Baptist Church, where I am now Senior Pastor.

Hola a todos; mi nombre es Louis W. Buendía.
Nací en el estado mexicano de Zacatecas un domingo 15 de septiembre. luego mi familia se mudó al estado mexicano de Guanajuato. Crecí en León, también conocido como León de Los Álamos.
Tengo un título de Asociado en Ciencias, lo que me convierte en tecnólogo de rayos X y tecnólogo de resonancia magnética. Tengo un diploma en Estudios Teológicos de la Universidad de Liberty y una licenciatura en Estudios Bíblicos y Teológicos de la Universidad de Liberty. Actualmente, estoy inscrito en el programa de Ministerios Hispanos en el Seminario Teológico Bautista del Sur en línea. Estoy trabajando para obtener el título de M.Div.
Estoy casado con Samantha Buendía; mis tres hijos son Andrés, de 23 años; Lucas, de 19 años; y Alex, de 17 años.
Llegué a conocer la gracia de Dios, dada a través de Jesucristo, por el testimonio y el arduo trabajo de algunos hermanos y hermanas en México cuando tenía 20 años.
Disfruto de una buena película de suspenso, drama, espionaje o comedia. Mis deportes favoritos son el fútbol y el boxeo; sin embargo, aprecio todos los deportes. Creo que la mejor estación del año es la primavera, incluso con alergias. Mi felicidad en esta estación de la vida es disfrutar de una tarde con toda la familia.
Mi cita desconocida favorita: El éxito es la sintonía de las voluntades: la de Dios y la tuya. Uno de mis versículos favoritos de la Biblia es Apocalipsis 3:20: “¡Aquí estoy! Me paro en la puerta y llamo. Si alguien oye mi voz y abre la puerta, entraré y comeré con esa persona, y ellos conmigo”.
Al llegar aquí, me encontré buscando una iglesia a la que asistir aquí en los Estados Unidos. Fuimos miembros de la Iglesia Bautista de la Fe durante unos diez años. Nos unimos a la Iglesia Bautista Merriman Road en 2016, y serví allí hasta 2020 como ministro de la Comunidad Hispana. También trabajé en otros ministerios dentro de la iglesia.
MIS CREENCIAS
Creo en la providencia de Dios, y creo que Dios es un Dios en tres personas diferentes.
Creo que los hombres están perdidos y van camino al infierno. Creo que la misericordia de Dios ha provisto en Jesucristo la única manera para que los hombres arreglen su relación rota con el Padre, sean salvos del castigo eterno y obtengan la vida eterna como hijos de Dios. Creo que el Espíritu Santo es el que convence a los hombres de pecado y de su necesidad de volverse a Jesús para la salvación.
Creo que los hombres son responsables de su muerte si no se vuelven a Jesucristo para la salvación. Creo que Jesús le ha dado a su iglesia la Gran Comisión y que debemos seguirla, tanto a nivel local como universal; Sin embargo, creo que las misiones locales son una prioridad crucial. El discipulado debe ser dentro de la iglesia, dentro del templo y fuera del templo. Creo que es nuestra responsabilidad buscar la santidad y crecer hasta alcanzar la estatura del hombre perfecto en Cristo.
Como iglesia de Dios, debemos amarnos unos a otros y ayudarnos unos a otros a alcanzar la santidad y la estatura de Cristo, esforzándonos por ser más como Cristo cada día. Deseo compartir con ustedes el amor de Dios en la forma de predicar, orar y ayudar a las personas de cualquier manera posible. Todo para la gloria de Dios.
Tres iglesias locales en Detroit me ordenaron como pastor el 27 de noviembre de 2023: New City Church, First Latin American Church y First Spanish Baptist Church, donde ahora soy pastor principal.
